beautiful bride {houston wedding photographer}

01.23.11

Just got back from Imaging USA in San Antonio. Imaging is a huge photography conference/expo where I had the opportunity to take classes from national/international photographers and visit with many photography industry vendors and sample new photo equipment, products, etc. Supposedly over 10,000 photogs were there and I believe it! It was so inspiring and I’ve come back more motivated than ever to make 2011 a great year.

In other news we recently celebrated my sons 5th birthday–can.not.believe.it! Once again I pulled out the birthday questionaire and was cracking up as he answered each one. I know everyone has their own ways of documenting their children’s lives but I really recommend this because it’s just so easy. Especially if you’re a little scrapbook challenged like me. :)

A favor please…click the ‘Facebook’ button at the top of the page and like my biz page. Pretty please!

Hello 2011! {houston photographer}

01.09.11

Isn’t the new year  so exciting? New beginnings, new goals, new memories. It’s like we get to start over fresh every new year.  Like many others this gets me thinking about new goals that I want to accomplish this year. I started to look back over the list I developed while taking the online MondoBeyondo class last year. I am very proud of my accomplishments in 2010 and dream of even more in 2011. What are your goals? Some of mine for 2011:

Turn off the TV and read more! I literally have a stack of books I want to get to this year including this one, the last one in this series and this Houstonian’s newest book. I’ve also set a goal to read a new photography & business book each month.

Take a picture of my kids every day for 30 days with this new fun camera I got for Christmas and make a mini album with it recording what we do each day.

Complete one of the projects in this book. I love Kelly Rae’s blog and story.

Update ALL of the images on my web & blog! I’m in the process of doing this–definitely takes longer than I thought to go back through all my sessions and sift through the images.

Finish rewrites on my script and send it off with fingers and toes crossed!

Go to the gym a minimum of 4 days each week.

Clean out closets and organize house in general.

Happy New Year everyone! A few images from a 2010 family session. I got to this little guys newborn pictures. When his mom contacted me about doing his one year pictures I couldn’t believe it had already been a year. They brought cute costumes and props like the pirate one (Arrrr!) and the elephant. Great fun!

beach wedding! {houston wedding photographer}

11.21.10

I did an embarrassing thing last night–I probably shouldn’t admit this but I gave my baby a bath, rubbed him down with calming lotion, put him in his jammies, gave him a bottle, his pacifier, and rocked him. He fell asleep and everything was good until he woke up a couple of hours later soaking wet. When I went to get him I couldn’t figure out why he was so wet–that is until I picked him up and realized that I forgot to put a DIAPER on him!

Needless to say things are busy, busy, busy around here. After this post I am putting down the computer for the evening and watching ‘Crazy Heart’ (love that movie) on HBO with the hubs.

This was the wedding of a fun, cute &  sweet couple at Beachtown in Galveston. I love how their pictures turned out! Thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding. Congratulations!

P.S. I’ve been updating the blog and added ‘twitter’ and ‘facebook’ buttons at the top. Click to LIKE me on facebook or follow me on twitter. Thanks!

I know it’s been way too long since I last posted but this is the busiest season for photographers. Not only have I been busy with many, many wonderful sessions but I’m also working to update my blog and website. They have been neglected for too long and are in need of massive updating and sprucing up. On top of that I’ve also had a couple of personal projects I’m working on…details to come.  I have one last session available before the holidays then I will be taking some time off to recover. :)

Congratulations to Sara and her family. Baby *N* is precious!

My fall newsletter just went out on Friday. If you’re not on my mailing list send me an email and I’ll be sure to send you one. In it I announced dates for holiday mini-sessions. I’ll be posting the dates on my blog soon!

almost makes me want to be pregnant again {houston maternity photographer}

she looks so cute pregnant i almost wish i was again….well maybe NOT! :-) i do really love these pictures though. my favorites are her with her son who will soon  be a big brother.  it’s an exciting time!

on a different note–i love to pass along things when i discover them, however, sometimes i can be a little behind on certain things. That said I am in love with Pandora radio (www.pandora.com). it makes me so happy every time i sit down to work at the computer! for anyone that doesn’t know (all 3 of you…) it’s a free radio website where you can type in your favorite songs/artists and it will create different radio stations just for you based on your favorite types of music. every time you log in to pandora.com you can choose which of your radio stations you want to listen based on your mood and it will stream music while you work on your computer. enjoy!
